List the priorities
Identify the essential loads first: refrigeration, selected lighting, communications or specific business equipment. Explain what you expect to run together and which items can remain off during an interruption. This becomes the starting point for the assessment.
Share the existing setup
Send the generator model and available manufacturer documentation, plus information about any existing inlet, transfer equipment or backup arrangement. Solar or battery equipment already on the property should be part of the conversation.
Define the electrical scope
The proposal distinguishes electrical connection work from equipment supply, fuel arrangements, maintenance and other trades. Location and manufacturer requirements are reviewed before scheduling; a phone description alone does not establish a complete installation plan.
