Understand the intended operation
Explain who will operate the system, which loads matter most and whether you are considering manual or automatic transfer equipment. The right conversation includes the generator, the electrical service and how the property is used.
Review compatibility
Provide model information for the generator and any transfer equipment already purchased. Existing panels, solar equipment and other backup components are reviewed together. We do not assume that a transfer switch selected online will fit an existing installation.
Plan the handover
Ask what operating information, equipment documentation and labels will be supplied at completion. If a property manager or family member will use the system, include that person when the operating arrangement is discussed.
